London Writers Centre is thrilled to collaborate with Reedsy on its latest short story contest. Reedsy is an online marketplace that connects authors with the publishing world’s best freelancers to help them create beautiful books. With a community of over 1 million authors and 3,700 freelance professionals, Reedsy has become the place to find the right editors, designers, marketers, publicists, and web developers to make your book a success.
Each week, Reedsy runs a short story contest called Reedsy Prompts. The Prompts team sends out a newsletter every Friday with five themed prompts, and writers are given one week to submit a story for the chance to win a top prize.
How to Enter
From June 19 to June 26 2026, writers who’d like to enter the competition should:
- Be aged 18+; Can live anywhere in the world.
- Pick one of the 5 contest prompts on Reedsy.
- Write a story between 1,000 and 3,000 words in response to the chosen prompt and enter it via Reedsy Prompts.
- Submit by Friday, June 26 at 11:59 PM EST/ 4:59 AM BST.
- The entry fee is $5, payable through PayPal. The winner will receive $250, also paid via PayPal.
