London Writers Awards 2027 – Thinking of Applying?

Thinking of applying to the London Writers Awards 2027? Join London Writers Centre for an online information session about the programme.

The London Writers Awards will be open for applications from Tuesday 29 September to Tuesday 3 November 2026, with the programme starting in February 2027. The London Writers Awards application pack, which includes Eligibility Criteria, Terms & Conditions and FAQs will be available from 1 September 2026 in text and inclusive read formats.

In this free online seminar, London Writers Centre’s Bobby Nayyar will cover what writers will do over the course of the London Writers Awards; including the structure and successes of the programme, who it’s aimed for and how to approach drafting your application. There will be time for you to ask questions too.

We will be joined by two alumni of the London Writers Awards, who will share their experiences of the programme.

Funded by a generous philanthropic donation by Sam and Rosie Berwick, this new iteration of the UK’s most successful writer development programme will support 12 writers of fiction for adults – literary or commercial genre fiction. This year we will not be accepting applications of short story collections.

Who is the session for?

• Writers of fiction for adults living full-time in London who are unpublished and unagented and aged 18+. Applicants will also need to be from one or more of the following communities:
• Black, Asian, Global Majority
• Disabled
• LGBTQI+
• On a low income
• Working class upbringing

Access 

• BSL interpreted
• Auto-captioned
• Relaxed
• Recorded and made available to participants for two weeks after the event
