Join us for our first event of the festival!
Join Lewisham Libraries for an exciting spoken word event featuring talented local writers, and an open mic.
Building on the success of last year’s event, this showcase will once again feature writers and poets from local groups: Lewisham Multicultural Writers, Torridon Writers and Forest Hill Stanza. Expect poetry and other writing full of life’s joys, fears and ups and downs.
There will be opportunities to sign up for open mic slots on arrival, with 8 slots available on a first-come first-served basis. Lewisham Libraries will be holding a book signing after the event featuring published works from their featured authors, including poetry, fiction, non-fiction and children’s books.
Presented in partnership with Lewisham Libraries.
About Deptford Literature Festival
Deptford Literature Festival takes place each March and celebrates the diversity and creativity of Deptford and Lewisham through words, stories and performance. It is run by London Writers Centre in a collaboration with independent producer Tom MacAndrew, with support from the Albany, Deptford Lounge and Lewisham Libraries. The festival is part of our campaign to make Lewisham the UK’s first Borough of Literature.
